World Renowned Seminar’s
Day II –
Value Innovation & Blue Ocean Implementation
(July 19, 2007)
Value Innovation:
Delivering exceptional value the most
important customer in the value chain
Dr. Ben M. Bensaou from
INSEAD will present A Process View of Blue
Ocean Strategy and Value Innovation. Created
by Professor W. Chan Kim and Renée Mauborgne
from INSEAD, Blue Ocean Strategy is a
revolutionary set of concepts and tools to
help organizations pursue a strategy of
growth and create new market spaces. Less of
an obsession with competitive benchmarking
and segmentation, the approach puts the
customer at the centre of strategic
thinking. It utilizes visualization and
implementation-oriented frameworks to drive
the simultaneous pursuit of superior value
as perceived by customers and a low cost
structure for the firm, and capture the core
of the market.
In this seminar we will
consolidate the Understanding of What Blue
Ocean Strategy is and discusses the
Implementation of the approach to create and
nurture an organizational culture of
Innovation. The 7-Step Process Architecture.
Shared Diagnosis:
Selecting the Team, Choosing a Project,
Drawing the Pionner-Migrator-Settler Map &
Value Curve “As Is”.
Value Innovation:
delivering exceptional value the most
important customer in the value chain
About the
event (Day II)
This Value Innovation
& BOS Implementation Seminar on 19 July 2007
will be presented by Dr. Ben M. Bensaou
from INSEAD and Faculty Member of the Blue
Ocean Strategy Network.
Value Innovation (VI),
one of the most prominent programmatic
approaches to innovation currently in use,
is the creation of Professors W. Chan Kim
and Renee Mauborgne from Insead.
VI integrates different
ideas from different sources, which work
well together. It is an eclectic mix that is
as original as innovation itself often is.
"The biggest mistake
anyone can make is to focus on the
competitor. You focus on the consumer and
you will get it right."
Dr. Ben M. Bensaou
is a Professor of Management at INSEAD,
Fontainebleau, France, and was a Visiting
Associate Professor at the Harvard Business
School for the academic year 1998-1999. He
